What We Believe
The Church On the Hill is a Scripture-driven and Spirit-filled church that is affiliated with the Ridge Baptist Association, the Florida Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We believe that we exist for the glory of God alone (soli Deo Gloria), and that sinners are saved by grace alone (sola gratia) through faith alone (sola fide) in Christ alone (soli Christo).
We believe very strongly in the inerrancy of the Holy Scriptures and that the Bible is our sole guide for faith and practice (sola Scriptura). We reject any teachings or movements that are not founded upon and grounded in the Bible, including the health and wealth/prosperity, emergent church, and Charismatic movements. While we are committed to scripture, we do not elevate one particular version of scripture above others and we currently use the New King James Version in our services.
We have a blended style of worship that we believe is God-honoring and Christ-exalting, fusing together both hymns and spiritual songs in our worship. Our underlying philosophy in all that we do, including worship, is that it is all about Christ and not about us! Our attendees come from all walks of life, so our general dress code for worship is business casual with modesty and decency in mind.
For a more detailed list of our doctrinal convictions which we believe with few exceptions, please refer to the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message.
