What is Mosaic?

Mosaic is a creatively designed service specifically for youth.  Any youth in grades 7  through 12 are welcome to join us on Wednesday nights.  A typical service includes worship, lights, music, interviews, videos, technology, arts, and a focus on the Bible.  The life changing truths of the Bible are presented in series to help students retain and implement them into their lives.

We currently meet on Wednesdays nights from 6:30pm-8:00pm in the new youth room.

Why Mosaic?

Each piece of a mosaic is hand picked to fit into the larger image that it ultimately produces.  Within the complete image a piece is specifically placed in a location where it is suited best.  Each one is unique in color, size, texture, and shape. Every piece plays its own part in the bigger picture. In the Bible, Peter talked about believers who were living stones.  He said in 1 Peter 2:5 and 2:9 -

You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ…You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (NKJV)

Peter talked about how believers are hand picked living stones which complete a spiritual image which is the church. We are God’s “own special people” or “a peculiar people” as some translations put it.  In other words, we are uniquely created for a plan that extends beyond our small world view.  We are to live and be different because God has called us from the darkness of unbelief into his service of light to proclaim the God News of His Son Jesus Christ.

In addition to what the Bible says, George Barna, a recognized and well-respected market researcher, described the current generation of youth as the Mosaic Generation.  According to Barna, this generation is “very mosaic in every aspect of their life.” He continues, “There’s no attribute that really dominates like you might have seen with prior generations.” ***
