Pastors & Office Staff

Tim Bullington

Senior Pastor

Tim began as senior pastor of The Church On the Hill in July 2002. He resides in Winter Haven with his wife of 40+ years, Cindy, and his loyal Yorkie-Poo Pebbles. Tim graduated with Special Distinction (3.8 GPA) from the Baptist College of Florida (formerly Baptist Bible Institute) in 1983 with a Bachelor of Ministry Degree in Biblical Studies. Tim preached his first sermon in Davenport, Florida at the age of 18, and God called him to preach on April 22, 1979 at the age of 21. He was called as the pastor of his first church shortly thereafter in Colquitt, Georgia in 1980.

Over the years he has attended conferences and seminars led by notable men such as John McArthur, John Piper, R.C. Sproul, John Maxwell, Alistair Begg, and Adrian Rogers. His favorite authors include several of the aforementioned names, as well as Charles Spurgeon, J.C. Ryle, and select Puritan writers.

His greatest strengths and spiritual gifts are preaching and leadership. The church has grown significantly during the course of his ministry. In his spare time Tim loves to work out with weights, play and watch just about every type of sports, go bass fishing and detail his vehicles. Tim is also a die-hard fan of the University of Alabama and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Jerry Gleason

Administrative Pastor

Pastor Jerry and his wife of nearly 50 years come to us from the windy city of Chicago, IL. His objective in ministry is "To serve in a capacity that will glorify the Father and the Son."

He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Southwest Baptist University and a Master of Divinity Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and numerous certified trainings both with the military and in Christian ministry. Thirty-five years in Pastoral Ministry (thirty-two of which were in two churches) and twenty-five years as a military chaplain have well-equipped Jerry for the position of Administrative Pastor.

Included in his vast field of experience are beginning a Christian academy and school board and overseeing it as headmaster for several years, rewriting church constitutions & by-laws and church policies and procedures, forming and overseeing budgets for the churches he has served, as well as teaching military seminars and serving as a volunteer in many community organizations and events.

In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his children and grandchildren, classic cars, and is quite the "handy-man".

Jim McFarland

Worship Pastor

A native of Ohio, Jim moved to Florida after high school. He attended Clearwater Christian College and Warner Southern University. Over the last thirty years he has served as worship pastor in several churches in Central Florida and Ohio, and has sung with and played the piano for various professional groups.

Jim's interests include classic cars, biking, and traveling. He prides himself on being a connoisseur of any restaurant around and he loves chocolate milk almost as much as he loves his dog, Allie. Jim has a passion for worship through music, and truly has a heart for ministering to others through his gifts.

Kyle Kilpatrick

Student Pastor

Kyle Kilpatrick is the Student Pastor here at The Church on the Hill. He grew up in Polk County, Florida, and he currently lives in Lake Wales, Florida. Kyle graduated from the International Baccalaureate Program at Lake Wales High School, and went on to The Baptist College of Florida to earn a Bachelor's degree in Missions, graduating in 2018. During his time at BCF, he was a youth pastor at a small church in Graceville, Florida, and completed an internship in the chaplaincy department of Graceville Correctional Facility.

Kyle was called into ministry in July of 2013, and preached his first sermon when he was 18 years old in Auburndale, Florida. He has a burning desire for the gospel of Jesus Christ which collides with his burden for the lost. Some of his biggest influences in modern history are Jonathan Edwards, Charles Spurgeon, R.C. Sproul, and John Piper. He is always looking for opportunities to share the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Kyle has been married to Emily since June of 2017 and she is a major help in our youth ministry. Kyle enjoys spending time with his family and watching and playing most sports, with the exception of basketball. He is a loyal Florida Gators football fan and becomes very "passionate" during their games. In his spare time he likes to travel to new places, workout, go to the beach, and give theological lectures to his wife, unsolicited of course.
